We want to maintain what has been left. And to not see it decay.

Other than in case of proceeding wars, there really are living contemporary witnesses from WWII that have directly experienced the war.

This is a very special chance. Together we can learn from "what has been left". We can talk with people, consider photos and images, read newspapers or books, or follow up on the internet.

Another possibility to learn about the past, is the consideration of contemporary artwork.

Also in Bremen, we can find such contemporary art. Due to the labor sub-camp "Admiral Bromy" several war-related wall paintings were made, that are now located in the city archive of Bremen. These paintings however are about to fall apart. In about 5 to 10 years, it will not be possible to restore these highly valuable cultural goods.

For this reason, we are also trying to gather donations and support for the restauration and maintenance of these paintings. Overall, we're trying to find support for further restauration of the construction of the memorial site in Sandbostel as well as the reconstruction and maintenance of the former labor camp buildings.
